Handfasting and Wedding Ceremonies
As a high priestess and celebrant I can offer to perform your handfasting/wedding ceremony tailored to you. Unlike conventual weddings there are no rules as such. This wonderful ceremony will be totally bespoke and tailored to you and your wishes. The whole ceremony will be written for and about you both. I do not have to follow any particular tradition or religious doctrine which means giving you the total freedom to make your day totally unique to you both and as you would want it to be.
While I can conduct your handfasting/wedding ceremony you still will not be legally married as of yet. If you do wish to have your marriage legally binding you will still need to go to a registrar for any legally paperwork which is separate from your ceremony with me of which I can help you with.
However what I will do is :-
- Work with you for the perfect ceremony
- Advise on any prayers, poems, music, flowers and rituals and anything else you may wish or need
- Help you with vows if needed
- Deliver your ceremony unique to you
I will also book the whole day solely for you so there will be no other ceremonies or other spiritual services booked that day which will leave the whole day dedicated to you.
Handfasting Ceremonies
Handfasting ceremonies are becoming even more popular. It is an ancient Celtic practice where a couple are bound together with a braided cord or ribbon to represent their marriage, engagement and/or commitment. Couples often have a handfasting ceremony to mark their engagement as traditionally the ceremony represented a year long marriage contract or engagement.
The braided cord or ribbon symbolise your life, love and the eternal connection and bonding between you. As your hands are tied together I will give the blessing of the hands which will show the unity and devotion between the two of you to everyone present. I will work with you to ensure that you will have the perfect handfasting ceremony.
The fee for a handfasting/wedding ceremony starts from £500… depending on locality and any additional travel and expenses that may be necessary.
Renewal of Vows Ceremonies
Renewal of Vows are becoming increasingly popular. This ceremony is very similar to a Handfasting Ceremony and a Wedding Ceremony. This ceremony is usually smaller than a Wedding/Handfasting Ceremony containing fewer people or it can just involve yourselves. Sometimes it can be the other way round where a couple had a small wedding/handfasting and would now like a bigger celebration where they can have more people witnessing their love for each other.
I will treat your Renewal of Vows Ceremony with just as much love and importance as if you were tying the knot all over again. This is such a beautiful ceremony where you will connect to each other in the most beautiful, unique and intimate way in the way that is unique to you giving you the freedom to make your day what is special and right for you. As there is no standard way or protocol that a renewal ceremony needs to go by this leaves you being able to create a personal and meaningful cerebration of your love and life together.
I will help and guide you on the ceremony itself including your vows, prayers, poems, music, flowers and rituals along with anything else that you may wish or need.
